The first Valentine

The first time for everything seems so beautiful. The first date, the first hug, the first gift and so on. I was looking forward to our first valentine on the 14th of Feb 2002. Since the first surprise he had given me was quite a big thing I was looking forward for something as eventful. At least, a lot of flowers. I was all dressed for the first Valentine. He suddenly walked into class with his usual T shirt with nothing in his hand. I thi\ought may be he would give me something after the lecture. I had got him a cassette recording some songs which showed how things had moved in these two months in our lives. I have always loved to give surprises. So this I thought was a good surprise for him. We always had the habit of exchanging small notes in class to exchange messages. So when I wished him he told me he even did not have time to have a bath so I thought he must have surely not got anything for me. After the lectures I gave him the cassette and he was quite happy. I told him he should listen to the songs and call me up when his has heard the entire thing. He said he would .to my surprise he gave me a pink envelope that had a bunch of papers in it. I asked him what it was and he told me it was his valentine gift for me. As I opened it I realized that he had written a wonderful poem. Not a page or 2 but a 7 page poem for his love. I was so surprised. I never knew this talent of his. He wanted to read out the poem himself to me. I had tears in my eyes. The poem had so much of depth in it. What more could I ask for. He really made my day. (Without spending a penny ………..hahahhaha)

Our first date

Some things never fade off your memory no matter how much time passes by. The first date or outing as I would refer it to be was our visit to Manas Lake. It was so ideal. Just the two of us on the bike. the lake was so beautiful and we sat there and had a wonderful time and then had lunch on our return and then back to classes. Everything at the lake seemed so beautiful with birds around and so much of solitude and peace and no one to disturb us. This being in winter even sitting on the rocks did not seem punishing as Pune is known to be cold and this was in January. So it was a wonderful experience.
